Special Weather Statement for Western Wyoming County

Special Weather Statement in effect until 10:15 PM EDT. Source: U.S. National Weather Service for most of WNY and Western Wyoming County. (Silver Lake, Castile, and Perry are near the EASTERN border with Livingston County.)
...A LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT WESTERN  WYOMING...NORTHWESTERN   CATTARAUGUS...ERIE...NIAGARA...ORLEANS...CHAUTAUQUA... NORTHWESTERN MONROE AND GENESEE COUNTIES...
At 911 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Lockport to near Derby to near Ripley. Movement was northeast at 55 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with these showers and storms.
Locations impacted include... Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Niagara Falls, West Seneca, North Tonawanda, Jamestown, Clarence, Lockport, Lackawanna, Batavia, Kenmore, Depew, Amherst, Tonawanda, Dunkirk, Fredonia, Lancaster, Hamburg, East Aurora and Medina. This includes the following highways... Interstate 90 between exits 61 and 48. Interstate 86 between exits 4 and 20.  If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a build-ing. Heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may cause ponding on area roadways.
