SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico near Pensacola, Florida on Sunday afternoon, completing the Demo-2 mission. The test flight carried NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley, the first time Elon Musk's company has sent people to space.
It may almost appear to be an old-fashioned 1960's splash down, but this is far from it. The entire operation is the latest in advanced technology and computer capabilities. One of their aims is to get to do landings on the soil, but for now the Dragon capsule served its purposes very well.
