Broken Gate at the Dam being Monitored to Control Water Flow; to be discussed at tonight's Village Board

FYI Bulletin - Silver Lake Association (SLA) found out yesterday that there is a broken gate on the dam. The water level has been going down since 8/5/20. The Village of Perry did not communicate this issue with SLA so we could alert the lake residents so they can make arrangements with boat and hoists. This is what we were told in an email:

"The Village [of Perry] responded immediately to lessen the amount of water flowing through the dam, getting it down to about 3 cfs, I believe. As I said today, new gates have been ordered and will be installed as soon as they are picked up from the manufacturer in Baltimore. In the meantime, Marlos and interim DPW superintendent Jeff Drain are monitoring the dam to ensure the temporary fix continues to keep flow no higher than it is."

There is a Village Board meeting tonight [Monday 8/17/20] at 7:30 in the Village Hall to talk about this matter.
