Anything that needs to be done by July 31st must be completed by tomorrow night. Yes, July is coming to a close. Even though we've traded in our usually busy season for a nearly empty season, July, nevertheless, has seemed to pass quickly. Already the sun is setting nearly a half hour earlier than at the peak of summer.
For some, this will be the year they skipped any lengthy stay at Silver Lake, if any time at all; for others, it will be the year when the community was absent one of its most vital parts of tradition--friends and familiar faces coming back together to converse, enjoy the Lake, visit, and eat together, not to mention a full calendar of events from which to choose.
Program planners are scratching their heads as they would normally be planning the schedule for the following summer in these mid-to-late summer days. There are deadlines to meet if there is to be a regularly scheduled program for next year. Even the Silver Lake Experience, with all its prior planning has to wonder what the summer season of 2021 will be like. In spite of it all, planners press on while enjoying a far-less busy summer--now nearly half over.
