'Ron' Dake, Father of Dan Dake, Former Maintenance Man at SLI Died Saturday

Rolland H. “Ron” Dake, age 84 of Perry, New York passed away on Saturday July 4, 2020 at Eastside Nursing Home in Warsaw where he had been residing.
He was born in the town of Genesee Falls, New York on Sept. 13, 1935, a son to the late Harold and Blanche (Perrine) Dake.

Ron worked for the Town of Perry Highway Department for over 34 years retiring in 1997.
He attended the First Congregational Church in Perry Center, was a member of the Perry Center Fire Department, honorary member of the Perry Fire Department and a former member of the Silver Lake Sportsman Club. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, gardening hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife: Sandra (Crawford) Dake whom he married on June 28, 1957, two sons: Randy (JoAnne) Dake and Danny (Amanda) Dake both of Perry, two stepgrandchildren: Jason Huppe and Joleen Dolph both of Perry, a step great granddaughter: Nevalyn O’Neil, sister: Louise Loomis of Castile, sister-in-law: Esther Dake of Castile, godchild Emily Bower of Fillmore, along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by siblings: Dorothy Willey, Doreen Keenan, Raymond and Robert Dake.
No prior visitation. A private Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 9 at the funeral home followed by a gathering at the home where family and friends are invited starting at 3 p.m.
Ron will be laid to rest in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Perry Center.
