Date of SLI Annual Meeting on Hold; July Trustee Meeting now July 11th;
Vote on Handbook Pushed to 2021

EDITOR'S NOTE: Information on NY Phases has been corrected 6/9/20, 12:15 pm Tuesday. It is general information and does not apply specifically to SLI. The SLI Trustees in conjunction with NY regulations and CDC advisories determine phase eligibility based on SLI's rare category.

The Silver Lake Institute's Annual Meeting, also known as the Cottage Owner's Meeting, is pending the latest Phase announcement by NY Governor Andrew Cuomo. For example, in New York's Phase 1, only 10 persons are permitted to gather together as a group, so Phase 1 would not allow for an annual meeting since our elected officers alone would make up the limit of ten. Phase 2 increases that to an allowance of 25% of building capacity with masks and social distancing. Phase 3 increases to under 50 with masks and social distancing. There is still a good chance of being able to hold it some time during this summer season.

The Silver Lake Institute's July 2020 Trustee Meeting has been moved from the first Saturday in July which is July 4th to the following Saturday, July 11th. It is unknown at this point if the meeting will be open to the public or not, once again based on the NY Phase which the governor announces. Phase 1 and 2 would not permit an open meeting, but Phase 3 might, according to our calculations.

The draft copy of the SLI Handbook has not yet appeared on the SLI website. In order to allow a sufficient amount of time for residents to read it over before voting on it, the Trustees have rescheduled the vote on the Handbook from this annual meeting to next year, 2021.
