Contagious Covid-19 Responsible for Closure of SLI 2020 Summer Season; Smaller Events Planned for Residents

All Programs, Concerts, Dances,
Worship Services are Cancelled;
Musicians asked to Return 2021

The complete schedule of events for the Silver Lake Institute has been postponed until the summer season of 2021. Some performers on the schedule have already expressed interest in returning next summer while others are not certain at this point. The postponement or cancellation will affect all programming open to both the general public and the residents of the Institute.

Some new, smaller attendance events may be planned for the Institute residents, many of which may turn out to be spontaneous. This newsletter hopes to carry as many "spontaneous" events as possible publicized for residents only on the SLI Password Page of this newsletter. The login may be found in the left hand column, the third item down from the top. Any resident not remembering their password or having never received one should call Greg at 493-4003, so you can enter the Institute's residential news and events.

Any news you wish to communicate with residents and friends, can be called in at 493-4003 or emailed to the newsletter at SLDN@mail.com. Digital photos (preferably in jpeg format) gladly accepted. Actual photos that you need to have returned to you can either be sent to P.O. Box 19, or dropped off at 6988 Haven Ave.,  off of Perry Ave., one block south of Genesee.

Those residents who gather to watch the sunset, sometimes called the Sunset Club, can gather as usual daily on the Big Blue Dock. They are asked, however, to abide by NYS "regs" with regard to the Covid-19 contagiousness, namely six feet of space between persons or family units.

The Dessert on the Dock will become Gabbing on the Green for this season. Since we cannot share food, it is easier to avoid it all together. Please plan to space yourself at least six feet apart. This applies during the length of the pandemic.

As more information becomes available, we will pass it on to you. If you have additional information or a question, please feel free to either place it in our comment section, email, call, mail or drop it off.
