The Daily News Reports: Genesee and Orleans coronavirus cases jump by 12

BATAVIA — Genesee and Orleans counties confirmed a total of 12 new coronavirus cases as of 2 p.m. Thursday.
GENESEE
Genesee County reported nine new positive COVID-19 results for a total of 63 positive cases. Eight reside in the county’s central portion and one resides in the eastern part of the county. The age breakdown of the people infected are: one in their 20s; five in their 30s; one in the 40s; one in their 50s; and one in their 60s. Three of the new cases were under precautionary or mandatory quarantine when they became symptomatic.
ORLEANS
Orleans County has three new positive COVID-19 cases for a total of 24. Two reside in the central part of the county and one resides in the western part. The age breakdown of the people infected are isolation: one in their 50s, one in their 30s, and one in their 90s. One of the Orleans positive cases were connected to a confirmed positive case and is in mandatory isolation. Contact tracing has been initiated for all new cases. Known contacts have already been placed under mandatory quarantine and will be swabbed if they become symptomatic.
So far in Genesee County, 309 have tested negative, 50 are in mandatory isolation, 87 under mandatory quarantine, two under precautionary quarantine, one death, and 12 recovered. In Orleans County, 202 have tested negative, 17 are under mandatory isolation, 33 under mandatory quarantine, and four have recovered.
