Traffic remained basically light along sections of Routes 63, 19, and the Silver Lake Road, as conditioned bounced back and forth between blizzard-like conditions on the one hand and sunny, blue skies on the other. The Lake is now under bright, sunny skies as we have moved into late afternoon in the Silver Lake basin.
The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement about today's weather: Scattered snow showers continue across portions of western New York to the Genesee River valley. The stronger snow showers will contain some graupel as well as some rumbles of thunder. Expect sharply reduced visibility as low as one half mile in the stronger snow showers.
No snow accumulation is expected as temperatures will remain above freezing. However, if traveling into early this evening, expect variable visibility as these snow showers move through and slow down if you encounter the heavier snow.
