There are few things as powerful as the aroma and taste of barbecue and chicken. That thought swirled in my mind for about an hour before I decided it was time to pick up my Asbury Chicken BBQ being served from 4 pm to 6 pm. I arrived at 4:20, only to be told they had Sold Out in the first 15 minutes!
My first thoughts were of disappointment but that didn't last long. I realized what tremendously good news this was for Asbury because in these very difficult financial days, they need to make ends meet. Being part of a religious organization, they have no emergency funds for which to look forward.
Being our beloved partner in the Silver Lake Experience, we have an invested interest in their financial stability and well being. Plus there's more opportunities coming--the Asbury Fish Fry tomorrow night; Lasanga next Wednesday (4/1) and Beef on Weck next Thursday (4/2). After missing Chicken Barbecue, I'm now planning to be there at 3:45!
