Pictured above are swimmers Tatum Bzduch, Astrid and Mike Bellamy of Silverlaken, on January 11, 2020, in Silver Lake. Thanks to global warming we have a new Silver Lake record for earliest swim of the year. "When the temp passed 50 degrees today (January 11th!), said Mr. Bellamy, we decided to go for a swim and set the Silver Lake record for earliest swim of the season! The ice went under a day before and the water was a lot colder than it looks in the picture! If you wanna break this record next year, you may need to cut a hole in the ice! 2020 is not a normal winter for Western NY!"
