Asbury Retreat Center approved the time change request from the Survivors Committee earlier today from the old 4 pm to the new 1:00 pm. This came about as a response to persons indicating their considerable difficulty in driving during the hours of darkness. The committee hopes this will encourage more people to join the fun of "catching up" with neighbors and friends about midway during the long winter.
Last year's event fell on Ground Hog's Day. This year the Survivors event falls on Ground Hog's Eve, Saturday, Feb. 1st. As part of the change to an earlier hour, the social will include the enjoyment of having lunch together which includes dessert and hot and cold drinks.
You will be arriving to past Top 10 music and optional dancing (the group enjoyed dancing when they were last together in November). Great conversations will be taking place and there will be an optional table game or two. There will be no guest speakers at this event, just the company of neighbors and friends.
