Drugs Allegedly Being Sold out of a Vehicle in Perry Gets a Response from Officers David Sprink, Gregory Smith

Officer David Spink and Officer Gregory Smith of the Perry Police Department received a call on January 10, 2020, sending them to an apartment complex for a possible drug complaint. The officers reported an individual was allegedly dealing drugs out of a vehicle. They investigated and found that Darius Howard, 38, of Rochester, drove to the Village of Perry on a suspended non-driver ID. A license check revealed that Howard had eight suspensions on three separate occasions. The vehicle was searched and officers found a white brown substance wrapped in individual baggies along with a white hard substance packaged in small clear baggies.

Officer Spink performed a field test on the substances which showed a positive indication for Heroin and crack cocaine. During Howard's arrest, he resisted and fled on foot. Howard was quickly apprehended and placed under arrest by Officer Spink. Howard was charged with seven offenses: three of which were drug related; one received for Resisting Arrest, one for obstruction of governmental administration; and two for unlicensed operation. Howard was issued an appearance ticket with a return court date of January 14, 2020, at 1:00 pm in Perry Village Court.

Officer Spink, also a member of the Warsaw Police Dept., recently became a resident of Dansville, having spent most of his life as a resident of Genesee Ave. on Institute grounds. He and fiance, Natalie Muster of Dansville, will exchange marriage vows this coming October, 2020.
