Winter Weather Advisory in Effect
Until 8:00 pm EST. Source: US NWS
Full sunshine and clear skies, baths the Silver Lake Basin in its 22-degree (17-degree wind-chill) as it slowly edges up to a 29 degree high (19-degree wind-chill). Today's squalls are definitely lake-effect snow whose movement is driven by the prevailing winds over Lake Erie.
Winds are forecast to push the squalls back down to the Southtowns sometime this afternoon. Unless winds stall from one direction, the squalls should simply be moving through our area without making a stop. If it should stop, we could then receive up to 3 inches of additional snow. Otherwise our snow total for the day should be around 2".
