The NWS Winter Weather Advisory which expires at 4 pm this afternoon boldly predicts 3 to 5 inches of snow for the period ending at 4 pm this afternoon. In contrast, AccuWeather breaks up the morning snowfall from the "tonight" snowfall and is calling for "up to an inch" for morning and "a few snow showers for "tonight." AccuWeather clearly sees far less snow in their forecast. We call it, "Be prepared for anything."
NWS: Snow squalls Wednesday will accumulate 1 to 3 inches with white out conditions at times. Lake Effect Snow coming in Tuesday night and into Wednesday (National Weather Service). The Weather Channel makes vague references to "snow" but does not dabble in number of inches on their standard charts (which seems to be a wise move, at least for this week).
