Pastor Nelson Takes Retirement; Craig Davidson Installed: New Baptist Pastor

The First Baptist Church of Perry last month announced their welcome of new Pastor Craig "Chip" Davidson Jr. at his public installa-tion service Sunday afternoon, November 17, 2019. Chip, Danielle, and their sons Josiah and Levi came to Perry from Ridgeland, MS, where Chip was Assistant Pastor at Grace Bible Church.

Pastor Davidson replaced retired Pastor David Nelson after a ministry of 27 years at First Baptist. Davidson graduated with a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2017 and served in the United States Air Force from 2005-2009.

"My passion for ministry is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world and to inflame a desire in the hearts of believers to pursue communion with the living God in their daily lives," explained the new pastor.
