Newsletter Publisher Thanks Readers for their Off-Season Faithfulness

Silver Lakers each have different ideas on what constitutes the "off season." Some are widely based on the first and last full Board meetings of the SLA and SLI (April through October), while others take a narrow view based on the 4th of July and Labor Day.

Still others incorporate Memorial Day as the beginning of the summer season. For year around residents, the seasons are more identified as "the busy season" versus "the long, slow season." On Lakeview, it's the speed bump season or the smooth ride season. On Ames Walkway, it's the no parking season, or the "ok, let's make our annual tire ruts" season.

No matter your definition of "the season" is, the Silver Lake Newsletter defines its seasons more by its various readership numbers. I was particularly thrilled this year to have the readership numbers so stabilized without regard to "off season" or "busy season" or whatever.

Every time a reader enters the Silver Lake Newsletter's domain, their entrance is recorded as a number which ultimately determines the average number of daily readers, repeat entrances during the day, and the number of different pages read. These numbers are only numbers and I only get to know who you are when you tell me at the Saturday morning breakfasts, or at a Friday concert, at the Club Restaurant, or at a casual conversation in the Park.

I just wish to take this opportunity to express my sincerest appreciation for your faithful reading of the Silver Lake Newsletter. It makes all the efforts at news collection, taking notes, listening verbatim, and many hours of writing--all worthwhile. It is a pleasure to serve you. Please let me know what other things or new things you would like to see, or what types of news items are of most interest to you (written, photographic, or video). There should be plenty of times to talk beginning with Nov. 9th and Feb. 1st ... and this year we will be adding "Coffee Times" at individual cottages throughout the fall, winter, and spring.

Once again, my sincerest thanks for you as readers and for you also as friends and neighbors! Stop by anytime! (Last house on the right on Haven Ave.)
