For example, what was the rationale for a double track when there was supposedly no separate runs; no need for a passenger train to pull off to a side rail to make room for the passage of a freight train to run straight through.
On the Silver Lake RR, the passenger and freight were all in one train especially since this section of track dead-ended in Perry, NY. Time to research this issue which means I can use your help.
