Double Track Question Not Mentioned in any of the 3 Written RR Histories

(Click on Photo to Increase the Size)
It's time to return to the research! The above photo is labeled "Walkers Stop." This label leaves us with almost more questions than it does answers. For example, what was the rationale for a double track when there was supposedly no separate runs; no need for a passenger train to pull off to a side rail to make room for the passage of a freight train to run straight through.

On the Silver Lake RR, the passenger and freight were all in one train especially since this section of track dead-ended in Perry, NY. Time to research this issue which means I can use your help. If you have information you wish to contribute (especially old newspaper clippings, but also family stories passed down), use the comment section below or send to gregfranklin14549@mail.com.
