Bulk of DOD's Core People will be Leaving for Home after Next Wed.

Dessert on the Dock (DOD) had record-setting attendances as the Season was drawing to a close last month. Attendance was good throughout the summer. The record attendance was 37 and 30; other highs were in the upper 20s. New residents and the friends and families of residents usually found their way to the tasty baked goods, pies, cakes, ice cream, and treats, mostly homemade.

Personal verbal invitations of welcome seemed to have been particularly appreciated and was responsible for many new faces, some of which were new residents. A higher number of children and their parents made the atmosphere vibrant and entertaining. People have been enjoying each other's company which is part of the rationale for them not wanting it to end.

So two extra weeks of Desserts were put on the September calendar with one remaining for next Wednesday. As usual, in case of rain or cold, we retreat to Hoag's First Floor. The informal group extends a warm welcome for this Wednesday's most-likely last Dessert on the Dock for 2019. Next Wednesday has been officially designated "Patriots Day" because of the 9/11 attacks.
