18 Neighbors, Friends of SLI Turn
Out for Last Dessert on the Dock
Followed by Winsome Goodbye's

People began gathering shortly after 6:30 pm for the 7 o'clock gathering of sharing each other's company and enjoying each other's desserts while observing not only the basic sunset but the many variations of color which followed it. The sky was crystal clear--as were the colors, and camera phones were busy recording the beauty of the phenomenon occurring before them.
Many conversations evolved around personal, family, and neighborhood discussions while others spoke of looking forward to the upcoming season, particularly ordering and receiving the soon-to-be-available History of SLI Street Names which has received such loving attention by Rev. Rodney, the researcher, and Suzanne Bristow who did the electronic preparations for the publishing of the book.
Julie Hoffner arrived late from a meeting in Attica around the subject of the annual grant for SLI program purposes. Her arrival was a fitting closure for this, the last of the Desserts on the Dock for 2019 whose season was extended three weeks by popular demand. The goodbye's of the evening were often sad, but were brief and usually forward looking. Yes, indeed, we shall see you again soon!
