There were years in the Institute's history when we had a league baseball team which competed with other area teams at our original baseball diamond and bleachers located where the current Meadow is. A very good decision was the one that brought a baseball diamond to the centrally located Bishop Burt Park. People driving by in cars are not as likely to see much activity at the Park, but those living on the perimeters of the Park (Genesee, Janes, Embury, and Perry Avenues) will often see neighborhood children pitching, catching and batting at a baseball on the current diamond. Maybe one day . . . who knows what the future might bring . . .
