From Near Record Lows to Record Highs, the Melt-Down is Welcome

Tuesday, Mid-Morning
As the snow retreats, there go the winter snow-prints of those residents who travel by way of the Ames Ave. Walkway (pictured above looking toward the Park) throughout the winter months. When the snow is at its height, there is, of course, less foot traffic on Ames. When the snow is just several inches, one can see the exact path of the travelers and it appears they like the straight path to the post office. Before the auditorium was erected in 1888, there was a street known as The Promenade that ran between Ames and old Perry Ave. which ended at Embury. Seasonable temps return this afternoon for a day or two before more unseasonably warm temps return for a time. The Spectrum weatherman has referred to our experiences during these days as a "roller coaster ride."
