Plowed and shoveled snow mounds are a part of this storm's story and remind us of the gradualness of the snow fall and yet the need for clearing it. The hand-shoveled area to the left had been cleared the first day of about six inches, but the late evening and overnight snows filled in the shoveled sections and required a second shoveling on Sunday as seen above. Guessing that we received about six inches the first day and 11 or 12 inches the second day, it was, fortunately, a light snow. Now we are faced with bitter cold wind chills and single figure temperatures. At 12:30 am the Silver Lake temperature is -4 Fahrenheit (-7 at the south end of the Lake and also in Warsaw).
