SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT UNTIL 6:15PM EST FRI ...RAIN CHANGES OVER TO SNOW TONIGHT WITH INLAND ACCUMULATIONS... RAIN IS EXPECTED TO RETURN LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING AND END AS A BURST OF SNOW LATER THIS EVENING. INLAND AREAS, ROUGHLY SOUTH AND EAST OF THE THRUWAY, MAY SEE A QUICK 1 TO 4 INCHES IN ABOUT A 2 TO 4 HOUR PERIOD BEFORE THE SNOW ENDS OVERNIGHT. METRO BUFFALO SHOULD SEE A TRACE TO AROUND AN INCH OF WET SNOW, WHILE AREAS ALONG THE LAKE SHORES SEE ONLY A TRACE. ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL LIKELY STICK TO ROADWAYS, SO BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY CONDITIONS DURING THE CHANGEOVER TO SNOW.
