New SLI Website Projected for 2019;
G. Schultz Heads New Committee

The new Communications Committee of the Silver Lake Institute is working with the previous owner of "SilverLakeInstitute.org" and "sli.website" to get a new website presence established for the Institute. The new website is being planned as a static site which will offer an online presence for readers to learn of the Institute's purpose and programs without a constantly changing news feed as the original blog did. The new website will provide the opportunity for readers to communicate with the official Board and its committees through the Institute's official email address and the committee chairs' email addresses.

The new website will be far less labor intensive than the original "news blog" was. The new site will not cover news per se, but communications information, policies, and the official work of the Institute. The information, by its nature, will not need to be updated as frequently as the news blog did, and will therefore make less demands on the new committee, once the site is built. The committee is pleased to know that the Board's Executive Committee is not looking for another news blog since all of its members are already busy people with busy lives.

In asking past publisher, Greg Franklin to help in building the new site, Glynne Schultz, chair of the new communications committee, explained that they did not see the need for another news blog since the current community newsletter-blog--SilverLakeConnection.com--is meeting that need already. "We just need you to get us started and explain what we need to do and how," said Mrs. Schultz, who is the wife of Kris, the Board's newest Board member.

Rev. Greg Franklin established, built and daily ran "SilverLakeInstitute.org" from 2010 through February of 2018 at which time he retired as SLI Chaplain and as publisher of the "SilverLakeInstitute.org." Rev. Franklin then donated and transferred the "SilverLakeInstitute.org" name over to the Executive Committee of the SLI Board. Also in February 2018, Rev. Franklin decided to continue publishing SLI news in a community-based, unofficial newsletter-blog with news about the SLI community and its public offerings under the name of "SilverLakeConnection.com" which successfully continues. He looks forward to unofficially supporting and advertising the new SLI website.
