October has been unusually gray here at Silver Lake, but in exchange for the cloudiness, we have a lot of color remaining on our trees. While I have not counted leaves, it appears that less than 50% have fallen, giving the larger number of leaves aloft a richness in color and beautiful to the eyesight. This realization comes as the calendar turns over from Oct. 29th to Oct. 30th.
In contrast to last year, we have enjoyed much more of a balanced and semi comfortable Fall. Thursday, Nov. 1st, our hearts and minds begin (if not already) to turn to thoughts of the holidays. May God grant us peace from these tragic and violent days of death and consider the advent of the Prince of Peace.
