Temperatures in the Silver Lake area dropped into the 40s over the weekend, forcing those living in summer cottages (uninsulated) to turn on their heaters and furnaces. Those in insulated cottages may have made it through the weekend without added heat, but Monday morning's cold rain and starting temperature of 51, caused even normally warm cottages to turn on the heat. Monday afternoon's 59 degrees (one high forecast for today is 62) began to show the signs of a warming trend in the next days beginning with a high of 73 for Tuesday.
