April-May Trustee Meeting Reveals Sound Financial Practices, Hard Working Volunteers, Employees

Nine resident-visitors were present at yesterday's first Trustee Meeting of 2018 and the first since last October. Mark Emmerson, President of the Silver Lake Association (SLA) addressed those present about the expanding activities of the SLA for the benefit of all who enjoy the Lake, and asked those present to consider becoming more active in their clean-water efforts, starting with a $20 membership which includes the big Directory with coupons for considerable savings at local businesses.

Around the Hoag Gallery Meeting Room, each one present took a turn at introducing themselves to the rest of the group which was followed by the opportunity for resident-visitors to speak, although none chose to do so. An opening prayer by Worship Chair Don Weaver, was followed by the declaration of a quorum by President Bill Schaefer.

The Minutes of the last Trustee Meeting, October 14, 2017, were reviewed and accepted. Within those approved minutes (1) The 2018 Budget of $125,150 was unanimously approved; (2) Changes to #39 Dock on Lakefront--new deck with railing 3 feet down was approved; (3) Breakfast Income reported at $786 and Expenses reported at $300; (4) old, unusable pianos have been removed from Epworth Hall; (5) Ames Avenue Changes: "Limit Parking on Ames in July and August to 15 Minutes" was unanimously approved under a motion by Pete Mairs and seconded by Julie Hoffner.
