UPDATED AT 4:30 PM
As of early Wednesday morning, Silver Lake remains frozen opposite the Institute with Camp Road serving as the weaving boundary between frozen and open waters. Beginning today, the forecast temperature highs for Thursday through Sunday will be no lower than 52 degrees with Friday at 65 degrees, giving considerable opportunity for additional melting of lake ice.
Also as of early Wednesday morning, the protective boards used during winter on the windows of Hoag Memorial were still in place. This seems to insure that the Trustee Board meeting taking place this Saturday will be, as announced, at the SLI Office-Garage. The meeting on April 14th is scheduled for the 10 am to Noon time period.
The sprouts of Spring flowers have been delayed by below freezing temps overnight. They should have a good opportunity of catching up to the near-mid-April calendar as we enter this four-day warming trend which includes a couple of days with at least limited sun.
Early Thursday Forecast:
Not As Rosy as Original Forecast
Late Afternoon Thursday Forecast:
Update: Note what a difference less than 17 hours makes--a very warmish week had to be revised downward in expectations. Still improvement over heavy snows. The sun returned at 5:15 pm.
Update: The sun started the day off enthusiastically until the clouds took over at about 10:12 am Thursday. Also, please note that we are not ignoring the Lake; we have just not had technical access to the SLI Lake Cam for the last seven days.
We drove by the SLI office and seen the groundsman mopping and dusting the garage for the big meeting what a joy to have such an illustrious person working for SLI
