Martha Frette was born in Dansville, NY, on September 4, 1946 to the late Harry and Mary (Mayer) Cooper and passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 in Perry, NY. Marty was a 1964 graduate of Perry Central High School. At age 71, Marty lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on April 20th.
Marty worked for M&T Bank as a bank teller and was also a self employed folk artist "Marty's Woods" selling her creations at local craft fairs as well as online sales. She enjoyed her love of painting going to area antique sales and shows with her longtime friend Nancy Wolcott, collecting antiques, and with her husband, loving their pets, cats, most who they have rescued.
Marty was a member of the Silver Lake Association and was a former treasurer of the Silver Lake Institute. She traveled internationally on several occasions, and along with her in-laws, made two trips to Norway to meet all of her 60 Norwegian relatives. She married Lee H. Frette on December 23, 1983. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Carol (Walter) Gebhardt.
Lee Frette grew up at Silver Lake and he and Marty lived on Fillmore Ave. in his parents' cottage before they moved to the west side of the lake. Marty is survived by her husband, Lee and her children Will (Cindy) Stowell, Ray (Heidi) Stowell, Beth Scharet and many grandchildren. Services will be private.
