When two feet of heavy, wet snow falls on the straight-a-way, then freezes, and the snow mounds are easily twice that in height and front-to-back depth, and they freeze also, the project is more than huge. Dan was on the job at 3:30 am on what would have been his day off. Not long after he started, the motor on the plow became inoperable severely complicating his morning.
Both the Camp and our own neighborhood people jumped in to help get the roads passable. Other neighbors without trucks, tractors, or plows, made their way to the homes of neighbors to be sure all were safe and basic needs met with even some well appreciated food deliveries. We "winter survivors" eagerly look forward to an early Spring thaw.

Update: This morning I can see 4 1/2 lug nuts out of 5 on my snowed-in Durango. The sun has apparently been doing a better job reducing the snow level than previously apparent. Now if only the plowed snow mounds between the driveway and the street would shrink ... :-)
