Meetings of Winter Survivors' Planning Group and Faith Discussion Group
will Continue as Planned for March

Thursday, March 1st, is the first meeting of our new Faith Discussion Group, a concept we've been working on now since mid-summer 2018. What had started out as a possible "Bible Study" is being tried here at the Institute in a different approach. Rather than the beginning point being the Bible, we  begin with our lives, our experiences, and our faith as the starting point. From there we anticipate that occasional inquiries about what the Scripture has to say about something will then draw the Bible as a resource. It's really not that new since it involves basic principles from the Wesleyan tradition and from the Church of England. (4 pm at Rev. Greg's cottage, 6988 (29) Haven Ave. off Perry Ave.

Although the exact date is not "in concrete" yet, plans are that the Planning Group wanted to get together in March to evaluate the January Mid-Winter Survivors' Party and begin to set basic ideas in place for consideration of next year's event (2019). The meeting will most likely be on a Saturday at 4 pm at the Schultz-Holowitz cottage. A firm date depends on repair progress of damages suffered in January from a broken hot water pipe. The Schultz's report good progress so far.

The Chair of Worship & Spirituality Committee, Rev. Don Weaver, wanted to assure members of both groups that Rev. Greg has agreed to continue on in his coordinating efforts on behalf of both groups. Each group was started under the auspices of the Worship & Spirituality Committee.

  1. Greg: Your efforts to serve us as chaplain have been heartfelt and stimulating. I am glad you will still have a blog to share your thoughts. Separating your ideas and interests from those of our Institute trustees is a good move and clarifies things for those of us who rely on this media for information.

    Thanks
