Accumulation of Snow
with Such Mild Temps?

11:00 pm Monday -- Can this be snow or night lighting and camera tricks?
Why am I doubtful? Because east of Perry Ave. there is no white at all.

    Hi

I really enjoy reading your Silver Lake blogspot and I know you were working hard on switching over the website. I thought I copied the new site as www.mysilverlakeconnection.com. Is you is correct and maybe the site is not up and running yet or did I get the new site address wrong?

Thanks for keeping us all informed and all of your work on the website!

    1. You are correct. That name you wrote down was advertised as the new name after we donated the old names back to the Institute upon their request. We were under the impression that we could donate just the two names in our account that the Institute requested. When we learned the process was long and involved court oversight, we decided to donate our entire account containing those two names since most of the names in our account were not being used any longer. Unfortunately, our new name was registered with that previous account. Since our "newly privatized" website was located at Blogspot.com, we decided to keep the longer name rather than making a completely new name change. Therefore the name is MySilverLakeConnection.blogspot.com. We apologize for the inconvenience created and hope you continue to enjoy our wide approach to the news at the Institute.

Current leadership at the Institute wanted to try approaching published news at the Institute differently. They wanted to try publishing only news which had gone through the full process of official Board approval before releasing it (much like when they printed their Board's Minutes of their meetings). We on the other hand, as members of the Silver Lake community, wanted to have the resident-members be a part of the discussion from beginning to end--from idea to final approval or rejection including the rationale for approval or rejection. We will continue that style of reporting for which we receive positive feedback for the most part.

We have decided to take a partial hiatus after all this work. We say partial because we still hope to keep up with all significant news while not necessarily having a daily entry. This would begin March 1st. It is anticipated that we will return to full strength April 14th when the official Board has its first meeting following their winter break. Again, I thank you for writing, and once again apologize for the confusion.

      Greg
