The Planning Committee (PC) for the Year-Round SLI Resident Mid-Winter Survivor Party is happily anticipating close to 20 persons for their first annual Winter Party. The PC is thrilled with the number of responders, "maybe's," and number expressing a high level of interest. Since we cut off the RSVPs late on Thursday, it was decided to prepare for at least 20 based on the feedback they were receiving.
The location is at Koinonia Inn on the grounds of the Asbury Camp & Retreat Center on the west edge of the Asbury Camp main parking lot beginning at 4 pm or very shortly thereafter. There will be plenty of Cheese & Pepperoni Pizza arriving from Darryl's Pizzeria (some with other toppings) in addition to a medium-sized Gluten-Free Pizza, cold fruit drinks, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and cold water (iced or plain). There will be ice cream for dessert and paper products and plastic table ware will be provided.
When you first arrive, stop at the welcome table to be warmly welcomed and to sign in and provide your current email address in addition to picking up a name tag just in case us older ones can't remember our friends' names :-) . There will also be an opportunity to sign up for a Faith or Bible Discussion group which will meet at the discretion of the group possibly a few times in February and/or March. (This will not be an old fashioned Bible Study, but an open discussion of ideas occasionally stimulated by some of the old thoughts.)
The evening's activities will be simple and spontaneous beginning with pizza, drinks, and ice cream, with great conversations beginning over the food. Those conversations may continue or some may prefer to engage in one of several dozen table games, or card games. No particular end time, so stay as long as you like.
