Religion News Service Announces
This Week's Featured Photos

Each week Religion News Service (RNS) presents a gallery of photos of religious practice around the world. This week’s includes images from the Bala Chaturdashi festival in Nepal; a Kutupalong Refugee camp in Bangladesh; a gathering of thousands of rabbis in Brooklyn; protesters offering prayers in Islamabad, Pakistan; a Christian peace and prayer rally in Zimbabwe; a Christmas tree in St. Peter’s Square — and two for Thanksgiving.

There are ten photos for the week of the 17th through 23rd and one of those special photos is a Holocaust reunion as shown below.

In this Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 photo, Israeli Holocaust survivor Eliahu Pietruszka, right, embraces Alexandre Pietruszka as they meet for the first time in Kfar Saba. Pietruszka who fled Poland at the beginning of World War II and thought his entire family had perished learned that a younger brother had also survived, and his son, 66-year-old Alexandre, flew from Russia to see him.

Rohingya Muslim children walk around their tents while one child bathes in Kutupalong Refugee camp on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, in Bangladesh. More than 620,000 Rohingya have fled Rakhine for neighboring Bangladesh since late August, when the military launched what it called “clearance operations” in response to insurgent attacks.
