Castile Town Board Opens New Booster Pump Station; Plans Water Rate Hike

Jason Koch, Electrical and Pipe Maintenance Operator, announced that the new boost pump station for Silver Lake Institute and Charcoal Corral is up and running. The new booster lines at Birchwood Acres will not be online until water lines there are replaced. Pump Station 6 was rebuilt and is up and running again, Koch made note of the fact that he is still finding mopheads in the sewer system. Koch was authorized to sign an Emergency Generator Preventative Maintenance Agreement for the new station.

With regard to the issue of unpaid water bills, Town Clerk Vickie Draper was authorized to send unpaid water bills to the County to re-levy on the tax bills. The Board also will be looking into raising the current water rates in the next few months. (Source: M. Hotchkiss, Perry Herald.)
