Last Night was the first night of the 2017 Autumn that temperatures took such a dramatic nose dive that no two looks at the temperature showed the same reading. From a nice fall day, it zipped all the way down to 36 degrees and then this morning registered a 34 with some humidity on one window but not frost. The sun has been full and bright all day today and the temperature just broke 60 at 3:20 pm today, and should break 70 by the weekend. Tonight's Low 68-69F.
Some more open areas may have gotten frost last night, so their next heat wave will be Indian Summer. Here on the hill of the lower portion of the Silver Lake Basin, we are sheltered by a rich foliage of trees and bushes and they did a great job last night for us. Still many tens of thousands of leaves remain on the trees, many of which are still quite green but some offering their hues of yellows and reds. Such a colorful time of the year!
