Square Dance and Book Signing
Both Draw New Faces

Mayor Hauser
Friday night's Square Dance at Epworth Hall with the Kelly's Old Timers playing and calling it, got one or two who hadn't been on their feet that much lately to be dosey doeing and promenading in ever demanding circles. Forty-six people came out to enjoy the dance and there was much dancing taking place. Even Perry Mayor Rick Hauser and his wife joined in the fun.

Saturday morning had another set of new hosts doing a great job at the Breakfast Cafe at Stoody Hall and I'm told they are in catering. It showed. They are the Dabek Family. Bill and the Dabeks live on Fowler in the Institute.

Author Laurinda Wallace
Immediately following the Breakfast Cafe, it was time for our familiar Author Laurinda Wallace to take the Stoody Stage and talk about her latest book and answering questions about anything in her string of dramatic creations but primarily interested in promoting her latest book, Too Close to Home which she co-wrote with Stephen C. Tarbell who was also present for the event. Ms. Wallace, who managed to pretty well fill Stoody, has written such works as Family Matters (A Gracie Andersen Mystery Book 1) Apr 9, 2013; By the Book (A Gracie Andersen Mystery 2) Feb 24, 2014; Washed Up (A Gracie Andersen Mystery Book 4) Feb 23, 2016; Fly by Night (A Gracie Andersen Mystery Book 3) Nov 8, 2014; Pins & Needles (A Gracie Andersen Mystery Book 5) Sep 21, 2016; The Time Under Heaven May 30, 2012; The Murder of Alfred Silverheels Mar 30, 2017; Gardens of the Heart Jun 22, 2013.

Worship Committee Appoints Joan Maddison
as t
heir 'Rep' to Welcome New Residents

At the Friday afternoon meeting of the Worship Committee, it was proposed that the committee create a volunteer position for a generous offer made by a committee member. In a nutshell, Joan Maddison will visit new members of the Institute to welcome them and let them know what is available to them, giving them a loaf of bread as a welcoming gift. Other materials about the Institute will be prepared that Joan may also deliver them to the new residents to provide helpful information.
