Annual Appreciation Dinner Recognizes Four SLI Silent Heroes Tuesday Night at Asbury's Koinonia Inn on Lakeside Ave.

With less than two weeks left on the 2017 Season, the Silver Lake Institute held its Annual Appreciation Dinner Tuesday evening at Asbury's Koinonia Dining Room on Lakeside Ave. with Board of Trustees' President, Bill Schaefer first reading and then presenting awards to Rev. Rodney Jones for his extensive historical work on the names of streets on Institute grounds; Joan Maddison for her faithful work both in the Worship Committee and on-site for Worship serving in a multitude of capacities; Julie Hoffner who was still on vacation at the time of the Dinner, was recognized as being a Laker for 60 years and the accompanist in worship for 40, and also for having served the last ten years as Program Committee Chair and grant writer; and Pete Mairs for long hours for nearly four years shepherding SLI through its legal separation from the Upper NY Annual Conference February 2, 2017, followed by the 501-3C federal tax exempt application process which concluded in June (2017) with SLI being awarded the exemption.
