Fifty-six adults and two youth were present for the opening concert of the SLI concert season 2017. It was indeed a beautiful presentation of classical guitar music, highlighting the ambiance of the acoustic guitars. Relaxing was another word used to describe the experience of the music presented by Eastman School of Music professors, Dr. Matthew Ardizzone and Dr. Petar Kodzas who have worked with each other since undergraduate studies and are well received and appreciated as they travel and present concerts.
Matthew and Petar first met as graduate students at Ithaca College where they studied with
Edward Flower. Both continued on to Eastman for doctoral studies with Nicholas Goluses.
Though they work together administratively with great frequency at Eastman, they have created
the Gibbs St. Guitar Duo in order to assure one another that they will keep practicing.
