Our Guest Speaker Sunday morning at 10:30 am, The Rev. Dr. John D. Cooke has enjoyed events at the Silver Lake Institute and Camp Asbury ever since the 1950’s when he attended the men's retreat each September with his father. Now retired, John served his entire ministry in the Western New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. His pastorates included Ashville and Blockville, Epworth Christ in Jamestown, Aldersgate in Rochester, Baker Memorial in East Aurora, and St. James in Niagara Falls. 

A native of Rochester, John is a graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College (B.A.), Asbury Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and Drew University (D.Min.). John and his wife Charlotte have been married 51 years. They enjoy their three children and nine grandchildren. Their son, David Cooke, is pastor of the United Methodist Church at Findley Lake, New York. We are so pleased to be welcoming him here on Sunday.

The fund raiser for the new Epworth Roof will follow the worship service at approximately 12 Noon. Take outs are available; those who eat in will be treated to dual keyboard Gospel music by Rev. Greg Franklin on the Epworth electronic keyboard, and Mr. Fred Schuknecht on the spinet acoustical piano.
