Season Opening Weekend isExactly 2 Weeks from Today

Cracks of Daylight linger nigh unto 9 p.m. at night these days indicating we have indeed drawn close to the opening dates of Season 2017 at the Silver Lake Institute . . . . and what a year it is, based on planning alone!

Two weeks from today (July 1):

• President Bill Schaefer and his wife, Kathy (co-chair of Stoody Hall committee) and Vice President Pete Mairs and his wife Linda (also co-chair of Stoody Hall Committee) will be hosting this Season's first Saturday morning Breakfast Cafe for SLI cottage owners on Saturday, July 1, from 8 to 10 am at Stoody Hall. This opening cafe will be a MEET AND GREET of current SLI Board of Trustee members. Come join the fun and the food! 

• Breakfast will be followed by the monthly Board meeting of the Trustees at 10 am to 11:45 am at Epworth Hall for SLI cottage owners. By the way, the new outdoor stairway is complete at this point and the new sound system will be in place for July concerts and worship services.

• Then at 12 Noon, the SLI Annual One-Day STORE opens at Hoag for ONE AND ALL, and remains open until 5 pm. Look what will be available at your "one stop shopping":

• Garbage stickers (SLI residents)

• Flares for Ring of Fire (Tract residents)

• SLA memberships and directories (Lake residents)

• SLE registration (general public)

• SLI & SLE logo apparel and gifts (general public)

• Golf tournament registration (general public)

• July 9th chicken BBQ tickets for Epworth Roof fund raiser (general public)

• SLE Volunteer sign-up (SLI residents)

Two weeks from tomorrow (Sunday, July 2):

• 10:30 am - Worship ON THE DOCK (weather permitting) followed by the SLI Gavel coming down to officially open the 2017 Season. Another great Hot Dog Fellowship follows the Service.
• 2 to 5 pm - Open House at Asbury Camp & Retreat Center. Starts at Koinonia Dining Hall with a Chicken Barbecue. The following Sunday (July 9) is the SLI  Fund Raiser Chicken BBQ for a new roof on Epworth.
