Heavy Silver Lake Thundershowers Knock Cable, Cell Phones Offline

There were no special weather warnings like we usually receive when we don't wind up having severe weather, so today's intensity of thundershower and lightning came as a surprise. Equally surprising was to experience being knocked offline while still having full access to electrical power. To add just a little more to the surprise, those in the Verizon cell phone network were advised that their calls could not go through "at this time" so "please try again later." We were back online in approximately 3 hours.
