In Memoriam

June Rowsam Morin
1928---2017

June's first husband, Rev. Robert H. Rowsam, who was a much beloved pastor in the Western NY Conference. Among his appointments, he was founding pastor of Aldersgate UMC in Rochester, 1955-1962; at the time of his death in 1974, he was Rochester District Superintendent.

Frederick, CO -- June Rowsam Morin was born to Ernest and Marie (Buckbee) Bacon in Phoenix, New York, on July 5, 1928 and finished her spiritual journey with a peaceful and natural death on Resurrection Sunday, April 16, 2017 in Lafayette, Colorado with her sons and their families by her side. June graduated from Phoenix High School in 1946. In 1948, she married Reverend Robert H. Rowsam, a graduate from Syracuse University and Colgate Rochester Divinity School; he died in 1974. In 1980, she married Thomas O. Morin, a graduate from Syracuse University and an architect, who died in 2012. 



June graduated from Monroe Community College and served as a teacher's aide at BOCES Special Education School. She also served as a librarian at Colgate Rochester Divinity School. She was the founder of a support group for newly widowed persons titled "Today's Widow" in 1976. Over the years, June ministered to and faithfully corresponded with a multitude of people with a smile and love. In her spare time, she was a voracious reader, played piano and clarinet, and enjoyed gardening.



June is survived by her two sons - Scott W. Rowsam and his wife, Gina, and daughter, Ashleigh Arnall and Dean E. Rowsam and his wife, Janet, and two sons Robert and William - all families residing in Colorado. She is also survived by her step children, Thomas Morin, Jr. of New Mexico and his children Josh Morin and wife, Stacey, and daughter, Savanah, of Illinois and Ana Geismar of Colorado and Marty and Lou Waters of Arizona and their children Alex and Chris of California. Her nieces and nephews from her sister, Virginia Colling who predeceased her in 2009, are also surviving, Nick and Tim, of New York and Robin and Faith of Florida.

A private graveside service will be held in Lowville, New York.
