S/L Institute and Asbury Retreats Experiencing Renaissance in Participation, Popularity

2015 Silver Lake Experience Planning Committee

There's no vacation for this hard working group who have worked together for 3 1/2 years. In just 6 more months, this group will be presenting the second biennial Silver Lake Experience this August 10-13, 2017. Included in this group are the leadership teams of the Silver Lake Institute and the Asbury Camp & Retreat Center, under the coordination of Committee chair, Kathy Schaefer. This Committee and its "Silver Lake Experience," a mini-Chautauqua event, plays a significant role in the current Renaissance of the Silver Lake Institute and Asbury Retreat Center.

Others who contribute to this Renaissance include the Institute's Program Committee, responsible for the concert series on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. Another contributor is the Hoag Art Studio shows that occur weekly right next to our waterfront. The Institute community has been strengthened through the experience of our Saturday morning breakfasts, Wednesday evening Dessert on the Dock, and our Long-Range Planning Committee has revitalized our grounds with such projects as the Heritage Walkway and Institute Welcome signs. We should be proud to be a part of the Silver Lake Institute and the work it provides to our area and to Western New York.
