Rushing to Stock the House for 4-Day Storm; then, the Waiting Game

For most of us around Silver Lake, this winter has been a waiting game . . . reading forecasts of blinding snow and many inches of it. It has also been a winter that never seemed to live up to the forecasters' promises--which is good. It's been a relatively mild winter--so far. Again we are faced with an amazing forecast describing the next four days as a deluge of snow, wind, bad visibility and hazardous driving conditions.

With such a manifest forecast over the spread of four days, it seems almost impossible that we would not get substantially hit, so again we make our many preparations "before Thursday afternoon" in hopes that once again the forecasters really do mean "Southwest corner of Wyoming County" as opposed to their more numerous ruminations of "Wyoming County." The sun is shining this Thursday morning as I write this, but I have no gut feeling about the next four days.

My street and driveway are clear since the melting snow continues. There's enough food in the house, my heat works without the use of electricity, and I've got no where to go, so time to play the waiting game . . . see you on the other side . . . . For those of you living out of town during the winter season, I will continue to report what I see and experience for your chuckling pleasure.  GF
