Day 2, Friday, Begins Cloudy, Turns Sunny with Occasional Clouds by 9 am

Imagine my surprise when I could see dust from the other side of my living room . . . no, not because there was that much of it, but rather the brightness of the sun allowed me to see things I hadn't seen in days. This past hour of bright sun with partial clouds occasionally crossing the sunbeams is marking the early start to Day 2 (Friday) of our so-far-beautiful 4-day snow storm. Speaking of the sun finally providing enough light to see things, perhaps too well, it's time to revise that "1 Inch of Snow" from yesterday afternoon. There is definitely not 1 inch of snow anywhere I am looking this morning. This may have been created by the initial precipitation being rain and causing somewhat of a snow melt even during the first snow of the 4-day storm. According to the outdoor flags, there is a steady breeze today with a North End temp of 35 and a South End temp of 29 (at 10:50 a.m.).

After 90 minutes of sun it appears that the clouds of the Eastern Sky have now taken over. To see PICTURES of the sun battling with the clouds, click on the "Read More" link just slightly below . . .

Here the sun can be seen in the Eastern sky.

Note the shadows on the ice in the left picture and the blue sky in the right picture.
