Current Leadership Team Re-Elected; Trustee Meeting Orients New Members
and Visitors to Committee Activities

At the Annual July Cottage Owners Meeting, Nominations introduced a slate of persons running for open seats on the Trustee Board that were ultimately elected unanimously. At today's Board Meeting, the Trustees elected the same Leadership Team that has guided us so well through the transition to independence from the United Methodist Church. A motion was made that the Secretary cast one ballot for Bill Schaefer (president); Pete Mairs (vice president); Lance Seeber (secretary); and Craig Bateman (treasurer). The Board provided unanimous approval.

The balance of the meeting was conducted in such a way as to orient the new members and visitors present as to who were members of which committees and what those committee responsibilities were. Committee Chairpersons summarized their work so as to update all present on the status of their on-going work projects, future plans, and budgetary needs.

A lengthy discussion was conducted on the different needs and expectations of the summer residents as contrasted to the needs of the year-round residents. It was pointed out that the heavy budget for the summertime is necessary to meet the required programming needs of our non-profit corporation. Without the extensive programming, the Institute would get hit hard by taxes affixed to our valuable waterfront, roadways, and buildings by Town and/or County municipal entities.

The main meeting was closed and an executive session opened to discuss options to those with delinquent taxes.
